After studying Physiology and Pharmacology at the Manchester Metropolitan University from 1999-2003 I decided to pursue a career in Physiotherapy after observing my aunt who is a Physiotherapist. My first degree provided me with a sound science background which aided me when studying for my second degree in Physiotherapy at the University of East London from which I graduated in 2007. I started my professional career as a Junior Physiotherapist at Colchester General Hospital. Due to my lengthy daily commute I took the opportunity to work closer to home after a year and started working for Barking Havering and Redbridge NHS trust where I stayed for 4 years. During this time I completed all my core rotations and progressed to a senior level where I specialised in the Musculoskeletal field and spent 2 years in Orthopaedics, gaining vast experience in elective and trauma orthopaedics. After becoming a mother for the first time I decided to leave the NHS for a career in private practice. I have since spent the last 4 years working in private clinical practice. I enjoy all areas of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, but especially like treating knee pain and lower limb sports injuries. I also enjoy treating neck and upper back pain. Five years ago I completed an acupuncture course for general musculoskeletal pain, headaches and tendinitis issues. In addition to acupuncture I am also registered to perform shock wave therapy for chronic tendinitis injuries. I enjoy working as a Physiotherapist as I love the fact that each day brings a new challenge and meeting new people. I revel in the challenge of resolving my patients problem and give my all in trying to do so. I work three days as week as I have two young children and in my spare time I enjoy being with them and trying to attend the gym when I can! I am Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at Health Plus Clinics which I take great pride in. I am a friendly, approachable and a professional physiotherapist. I am always keen

Clinical interests: · Back pain – including thoracic spine and cervical spine · Hip issues – functional use and compensations · Sports related injuries Training and background: Gareth qualified with a Master of Osteopathy degree from the British School of Osteopathy in 2013. Straight after qualifying Gareth entered an internship within elite athletics working with some of Team GB’s best and most promising athletes. Gareth is now preparing for his 4th season working within athletics and during this time has been fortunate enough to travel to various parts of the world for training camps and competitions. A highlight was in 2015 when he was selected as part of the GB medical team for the World Youth Championships held in Cali, Colombia. In 2014 he undertook and mentorship program in Applied Functional Science from the world-renowned Gray Institute in Michigan, USA. This program has enabled a better understanding of functional demands and biomechanics of the body and ways to deal with them. Gareth has also spent significant time in private practice in East London and Surrey treating a diverse patient list. His desire to become an Osteopath was a natural progression from time spent as a personal trainer where he was seeing first hand many issues that were limiting people in achieving optimum health. He decided on Osteopathy, as he believes that health and the body are a combination of truly integrated systems and should be viewed as such. Gareth is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and Osteopathic Sports Care Association.
