I graduated with a Masters Degree in Sports Therapy from The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in 2009. Since that time I have gained experience working with Swansea Harriers Athletics Club, Swansea University athletes, and other private patients from a variety of different sporting and exercise backgrounds. I like to think that my own passion for sport, and all things active, give me some insight and empathy for what an injured client might be going through.
Sports Therapy, contrary to popular misconceptions, is not simply about Sports Massage. It is an aspect of healthcare concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. It utilizes the principles of sport and exercise sciences incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work.
