At the Move Well Clinic Fiona provides a range of Remedial and Exercise Therapy services to address pain and movement problems. These can include soft tissue therapy (i.e.: sports massage), joint mobilisation and exercise prescription.
The purpose of these services is to reduce pain symptoms and improve quality of movement for all clients attending the clinic. Common issues treated in the clinic include:
- shoulder movement restrictions
- upper and lower backache
- neck pain/stiffness
- hip, knee and/or ankle pain
- joint soreness/stiffness
- elbow and wrist problems
- muscle tension
- balance and strength issues
Fiona Higgs is a fully qualified and insured therapy professional. Her qualifications include Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (BMet (formerly Matthew Boulton College). She is currently completing her Level 5 Diploma in Remedial and Exercise Therapy, due 2019 at Movement Therapy Education in Harbourne, Birmingham. Fiona also holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Science from Aberystwyth University, Wales (2014) and is a published author in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and and presented at a number of international research conferences. She is an Affiliate Member of the Sports Therapy Association with full Professional Liability and Indemnity insurance from Balens Ltd and First Aid at Work training certificate.
Move Well is a therapy service for anyone experiencing problems with pain, injury, strength, balance or mobility. Move Well provides specialist therapy services that combine traditional sports massage with exercise training, biomechanics, pain science, movement therapy and education. Move Well can provide you with a detailed initial assessment and individually tailored treatments. Small group exercise programmes are also available. Fiona Higgs is a Sports and Exercise Therapy practitioner, Sports Therapy Association UK member and PhD graduate in Sport and Exercise Science (Aberystwyth University, UK). Since establishing Move Well in 2017, Fiona has helped many clients recover from persistent pain, injuries and movement problems.
