All our physiotherapists are highly qualified and provide outstanding quality health care. Our therapists come from diverse backgrounds, many having been involved in treating Elite Athletes across various sports including Olympic Swimmers and Divers, Waterpolo Players,Track and Field Athletes, Triathletes, Basketball Players and Gymnasts as well as professional Cricket, Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Football Teams.Whilst other therapists have come from a background in the Performing Arts both as performers and therapists and we work with professional dancers, musicians and Actors. Specialising in physiotherapy for Hypermobilty and providing Vocal Therapy to Actors and Professional Speakers.
Many of our therapists have competed at National and International Level Sport, including competitors at the Commonwealth Games, World Gymnastics Championships,World Triathlon, Iron man and Comrades Races as well as professional Dancers.
We understand the demands of an athletes body, as well as the overworked office worker with back and neck pain.
Greg graduated from the University of the Witwatersand, South Africa in 1994 and has been part of the Physio in the City team since moving to the U.K in 2003. He specialises in sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. Greg has a special interest in the prevention of posture related injuries in office based staff and is involved in our Ergonomics programme conducting CityBacks ergonomic posture management training workshops as well as carrying out workstation assessments. His sporting interests are distance running and long distance triathlon having completed the Comrades Ultra-marathon and Ironman triathlon.Greg is a firm believer in educating clients to better manage themselves in order to prevent injury.
Fiona studied Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University and graduated with honours in 1999.She has a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunction, particularly in back pain and post- surgical rehabilitation. Fiona has extensive experience working as a Physiotherapist in both the public and private sector. With growing evidence in the role of exercise and Pilates she trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute and achieved Class Instructor status. She also studied with Polestar in the rehabilitation of patients using the specialised Pilates equipment. Fiona continues her professional development in Physiotherapy by attending courses in both the UK and in the USA. Fiona is also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She treats pain from musculoskeletal injuries and headaches using acupuncture.
Julia graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 2011 and has completed various postgraduate courses including dry needling, taping and manual therapy. She has worked in public hospitals and private sports physio practices and has worked with sportspeople and athletes across a range of disciplines from recreational to elite level. She played premier division hockey, in South Africa and England, and has represented South Africa at a junior and senior level. She is a keen triathlete, having completed several Iron Man 70.3 events as well as various cycle tours and half marathons. Her sports experience has equipped her with an understanding of demands of sports and the importance of returning to training through a comprehensive treatment and specific rehabilitation program.
