Sports Massage, Strapping & Taping

SAS Sport and Remedial Massage is run by Susan Saunders. Susan assists people from all walks of life and helps them alleviate muscular and soft tissue pain that has resulted from either physical or emotional stress.

This desire to treat people has come from Susan's own experiences of sport and postural injuries which, over the years has resulted in periods of frustration. Susan has sought out and continues to benefit from the help of sports massage therapists to break her own vicious circle of pain, discomfort and muscular imbalances within her own body.

Susan has an MSc in Exercise Physiology, a Level 5 BTEC Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy (currently the highest level of massage qualification available in the UK), is qualified in first aid and is able to apply kinesiology tape if required to help rehabilitate sports injuries, relieve postural pain & other muscular discomfort.

Susan, in her application, uses a variety of general and advanced methods of massage, including soft tissue release, positional release, connective tissue, muscle energy & neuromuscular and myofascial release techniques. Susan also provides general advice on post massage rehabilitation. This extensive knowledge has been acquired through education (including attending numerous CPD Courses) and practical clinical experience as well as post event massage.

Susan has been involved in sport all of her life, having been born into a sporting family. Susan excelled as a junior athlete representing Hampshire for cross country. Personal injury and illness has fuelled this journey into the world of sports and remedial massage therapy. Susan now enjoys running, cycling and walking plus some circuit based training. In 2018 Susan completed her first ultra too (Race to Stones).

Susie Saunders

I am a soft tissue (sports and remedial) massage therapist, which is much more than sports massage. I qualified in Level 5 BTEC Sports and Remedial Massage (HIghest BTEC diploma currently in the UK) in 2012 and since then i have worked in multi disciplinary clinics and have now set up a successful part time business which I run from both my own home and also carry out mobile treatments at individual's own homes. Prior to qualifying I also obtained a MSc in Exercise Physiology (Loughborough University) and BSc in Exercise and Sports Sciences (University of Exeter). Over the past 7 years I have completed numerous CPD courses to help broaden my extensive knowledge regarding soft tissue therapy and I have plans to complete other courses in the future.
