Ben Gooding Sports Massage

I have been an active runner all my life competing on a regular basis, I also take part in numerous outdoor sports such as kayaking, climbing and mountain biking. After struggling with lots of little injuries I decided I wanted to learn more about my body, so I could understand my own body, this was when I looked into sports massage during this journey, I have learnt that we need to look at the body as a whole. Since qualifying to work as a sports massage therapist I have worked with members of the general public helping them to move better and also elite athletes. For me, the biggest point to remember is you don't have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage therapy.

I am a specialist in musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries and have treated both amateur and professional athletes from a variety of sports. Being a keen sportsman myself I understand how frustrating it is to pick up an injury. All new patients start with an initial consultation this is to find out all about your medical history, your complaint and to find out what the problem is. This will usually last an hour including treatment. Follow up appointments should they be needed will typically last 30 minutes. I work from the Wellfield Clinic in Cardiff on Tuesday and Saturdays and Newport on Friday, when calling to book your appointment ask to be booked in with Andrew.
